Prima vittima greca?

Big Belgian Lender Dexia Announces 3.6 BILLION Euro Loss On Coming Asset Sales
May 27 (Reuters) - Bailed out Franco-Belgian financial group Dexia will speed up its divestment of assets and take a 3.6 billion euro ($5.1 billion) hit in the second quarter in a move likely to appease EU regulators.
Dexia said in a statement that its board had approved the acceleration of its asset sale programme on Friday, which would also see it exit certain guarantees from Belgium and France..............

Dexia (DEXB BB) says to accelerate sale on non-core assets
says,

- to divest financial products portfolio

FT Alphaville writes: 'Oh dear oh Dexia'
We’ll note that while Dexia has to sell a lot of stuff and increase capital after its last financial trashing there’s obviously much nervousness about the bank’s bond portfolio and the exposure to Greece therein.
It amounts to about €3.5bn overall according to a recent Morgan Stanley estimate.

Now, Commerzbank (owner of another Greek-hit bond portfolio) recently raised capital as well, in order to deal with its crisis-injected hybrid shares. Full Story: http://ftalphaville.ft.com/blog/2011/05/27/579341/oh-dear-oh-dexia/

Dexia (DEXB BB) will make a statement relating to its trade suspension in about an hour, according to a co. spokeswoman
As we await updates from Dexia, the following article from Zerohedge has become prominent: Is Belgium's Dexia About To Be The First Greek Casualty?

EVERYTHING Just Turned Lower On News That Big Lender To Greece Dexia Has Been Halted
Something's up.
Markets around the world just turned lower on news that Belgian financial institution Dexia has seen its shares halted pending announcement.
The company is a big-time lender to European local governments, so that's obviously a huge concern.
Add this to the Fitch lower of the Japan outlook, and suddenly everything is moving down from earlier highs.

Update
: There's speculation that the news could have someting to do with this recent ZeroHedge story, about a recent bond offering from the company that may be put back to it in light of its Greeece exposure.
